I love mashups and wanted to find a melody that complemented "A Thousand Years." I landed on Troye Sivan's "The Good Side," and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I worked backwards and sorted out the melody first, and then played with tone sets and bass sets to figure out the chord progression.
